There are three ways: (1) Drag and drop .md files onto the MarkDrop window, (2) Right-click any .md file in Finder and select "Convert with MarkDrop" from the Services menu, or (3) Copy Markdown text and use the Paste from Clipboard button in the app.

No. All conversion happens locally on your Mac. Your files never leave your machine. The only exception is if you choose to upload to Google Docs (Pro feature) — and that's always your choice.

Make sure MarkDrop is running. The "Convert with MarkDrop" option appears in the Services submenu when you right-click a .md file in Finder. If it still doesn't appear, try going to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Finder and make sure MarkDrop is enabled.
